Compensation: This position has a maximum hourly rate of $22.60. The rate for this position will be commensurate with education and experience. A comprehensive benefit package that includes health insurance with medical, dental and vision coverage, life insurance, and participation in the Indiana Public Retirement System as well as paid time off and vacation. Job Summary:
The Town of Cedar Lake Fire Department is seeking to fill the position of Full-Time Administrative Assistant to the Fire Chief. The successful candidate will perform a variety of clerical, administrative, financial, and record keeping duties and responsibilities in support of the operation of the Cedar Lake Fire Department. This position will require thorough knowledge of department rules, policies, and procedures. The Administrative Assistant will often serve as a primary point of contact for the Town; as such, the ideal candidate will exhibit trustworthiness, high ethical character, an eye for detail and a dedication to customer service.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma, or equivalent, and a minimum of two-year related work experience as an administrative assistant, office manager, or other directly related position required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability and willingness to maintain confidential information and records.
- Intermediate to advanced skill and proficiency in Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint; Microsoft Outlook Email/Calendar, Microsoft Teams and/or Zoom.
- Ability to touch type a minimum of 50 wpm.
