Job Summary:
The Town of Cedar Lake is seeking a reliable and organized Administrative Assistant to support the Parks & Recreation Department. This position provides clerical, administrative, and customer service support while assisting with daily office operations, program registrations, records management, and financial processing.
Compensation:
- Maximum hourly rate: $22.81
- Rate will be commensurate with education and experience

Desired Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Administrative or clerical experience preferred
- Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills
- Proficiency with standard office software and computer systems
Key Responsibilities
- Greet visitors and assist callers with Parks & Recreation inquiries
- Provide customer service and assist with program registrations
- Prepare correspondence, reports, flyers, and departmental records
- Maintain filing systems and manage incoming and outgoing mail
- Perform data entry and assist with office computer systems
- Process claims, invoices, and assist with bookkeeping tasks
- Order supplies and maintain departmental inventory
- Assist with special events and Parks & Recreation programs
- Attend Park Board or civic meetings and support Town-sponsored events and programs
Selection Guidelines
Candidates will be evaluated based on a formal application rating of education and experience, an oral interview, and reference checks. Related tests may also be required.
