License to Carry a Handgun

On July 1, 2022, House Bill 1296 will be in effect, permitting Constitutional Carry in Indiana.  You will no longer need a License to Carry a Handgun within the State of Indiana as long as the individual meets the legal requirements outlined in HB 1296. STEP 1 – Submit your application online to the Indiana State Police by clicking here: ONLINE GUN PERMIT REGISTRATION

STEP 2 – After completing your online registration, you will pay any applicable fees and schedule an appointment with IdentoGO for fingerprinting. The fingerprinting CANNOT be done at the Cedar Lake Police Department.

STEP 3 – After you complete the fingerprinting process with IdentoGO, you will fill out the form below to submit your request to the Cedar Lake Police Department for approval. Depending on the volume of permits being processed, you should receive your permit in 4-6 weeks.
