Our dedicated team of 24 sworn officers, three civilian support staff, and three Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS) works together to ensure the safety and well-being of our community. “With a vision towards the future and a solid tradition of excellence, we, the Members of the Cedar Lake Metropolitan Police Department, are dedicated to providing professional law enforcement services while working to obtain justice for all residents and visitors of the Community of Cedar Lake, Lake County, Indiana.  The Cedar Lake Metropolitan Police Department shall treat all people fairly, impartially, and with respect and dignity while at the same time maintaining the integrity of our profession.

It is the mission of the Cedar Lake Metropolitan Police Department to work proactively with our citizens to prevent criminal activity, to enhance the quality of life in our Community, and to provide a desirable place to live, work, and flourish.”

If you would like to obtain a copy of a police report, get a VIN check, or finish the application for your License to Carry a Handgun, you can do this Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. or on the second Saturday of the Month between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Ordinance citation payments are also accepted at this location. Citations can be paid with a credit or debit card, cash, or a check.
