Paying Your Utility Bill
Your utility bill is due by the tenth (10th) of the month with a ten (10) day grace period before the delinquent date. A penalty shall be imposed if such billing is not paid on or before the 20th day of each month. If the 20th day is a weekend or holiday as defined by the Town of Cedar Lake or a day in which the Utility Billing Office is closed, the next business day shall be considered the final day for payment to be made without penalty.
What’s New: The Town has upgraded its online payment system. You can now pay using Google Pay and Apple Pay in addition to credit/debit cards and e-checks, with new options for text-to-pay and mobile-friendly account access.
Payment may be made in one of the following ways:
Payment Options Subject to a Convenience Fee
These options are processed by the Town’s payment vendor, BS&A / Stripe. The convenience fee is charged and retained by the vendor, not by the Town of Cedar Lake.
- Pay Online
Pay online 24/7 by clicking here (bsaonline.com). Credit and debit cards, e-checks, Google Pay, and Apple Pay are accepted. Our vendor charges and retains a convenience fee for processing the payment. Your account number and a PIN, located on your monthly bill, are needed to access your information. - Desktop or Mobile Pay
Log in to your account from any computer or mobile device, anytime, for on-the-go payment options and optional email reminders to help keep your payments on schedule. - Online Auto Pay
Set up recurring monthly payments through the online payment portal using a credit or debit card or bank account, or opt in to text notifications that let you pay directly from your mobile phone. Note: this online option is different from the Town’s free Auto Withdrawal program described below, and is subject to the convenience fees listed here. - Pay by Phone
Pay 24/7 through our automated Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system by calling (219) 379-3149 and following the prompts. Debit and credit cards are accepted. Please have your bill available when calling. - In-Person at Town Hall – Credit/Debit Card
Credit and debit card payments made in person at the Town Hall counter, located at 7408 Constitution Avenue, are processed through the same point-of-sale system as our online payments and are subject to the convenience fee listed below.

Payments are drafted from your bank account through DeMotte State Bank on the 15th of the month, or the next business day; the Town facilitates the monthly payment process. No fees apply. - In-Person at DeMotte State Bank
Payments are accepted at DeMotte State Bank, 10119 West 133rd Avenue. Please have your remittance stub available at the time of payment. Cash and checks are accepted. Payments made before 3:00 PM are considered same-day business. This bank service is free of charge. - By Mail
